Juniors
Nedlands Golf Club has a sizable junior membership base from beginners to competitive pennant players.
The junior program is fluid with clinics on offer catering to each level of ability as well as opportunity to access the course regularly to improve skills, etiquette and rules interpretation.
A Junior member may;
- use the Course in accordance with times determined by the Committee.
- compete in such competitions as the Captain or in his absence the Match Committee may decide from time to time.
Sunday competitions
Once you have a membership login you are able to book yourself into the Junior competitions on Sundays.
Juniors with handicaps are encouraged to enter the regular 9 hole competitions. These are a relaxed friendly time for juniors to gain competition experience. These competitions will be managed by the proshop and volunteers but parents are welcome to walk around, caddy and assist at all times.
Timesheets open 9 days prior to the event for adults and juniors can fill any available spots 4 days prior to the date.
Juniors can either play to gain a handicap during these times and, once they have a handicap, play for prizes instead. Once a junior has a handicap, they are able to apply to either the Men’s or Women’s Captain for playing rights in main Club competitions.
Coaching
We will be developing a monthly coaching clinic fixture with our PGA Professional Andy Gott, which will be on Monday afternoons. All facets of golf will be covered and all juniors are welcome to come along. These dates will be publicised soon.

Nedlands Junior Masters
The ‘Nedlands Junior Masters” was born in 1982. Because of the nature and timing of the event, it became the final competition prior to the selection of the State Junior Boys team to represent Western Australia at Easter in the Shell Interstate Teams Series. At the conclusion of the trophy presentation for the Nedlands Junior Masters, it became tradition that the State team was announced.
Now days the “Junior Masters” remains an invite event for the top 40 boys and girls on the state ranking list, with some entries available to make a field of 72. It still remains the event where Golf WA present the State Junior Team each year and remains one of the few 36-hole stroke play junior championships.
